“Creativity is … seeing something that doesn’t exist already. You need to find out how you can bring it into being and that way be a playmate with God.” Michele Shea

Before I get distracted by blog comments and email, and Facebook I will write my pages/blog and then I can feel comfortable responding to messages and catching up with the world. Getting things done for my exhibit, accomplishing life’s little chores are on the goal list for today but first I am going to do some free association that chapter 3 in The Artist’s Way suggest to do in order to “restore the persons we have abandoned – ourselves.” I would not use the word abandoned, I would used the word covered up, or piled life experience on too without a lot of conscious thought. I believe this exercise can loosen some of the debris, awaken some more of the senses I may have lock away for safe keeping or recovering later when I am able to use the tools to enhance my creative, harmonic practice of life.

- My Favorite childhood toy was… a Jerry Mahoney doll
- My favorite childhood game was… I don’t recall any
- The best movie I ever saw as a kid was… Old Yeller
- I don’t do it much but I enjoy… dancing.
- If I could lighten up a little, I’d let myself… go dancing.
- If it weren’t too late, I’d… fall in love again.
- My favorite musical instrument is … the piano.
- The amount of money I spend on treating myself to entertainment each month is… not enough.
- If I weren’t so stingy with my artist, I buy him… a new 55 mm -200 mm lens.
- Taking time out for myself is… and everyday experience.
- I am afraid that if I start dreaming… those dreams won’t come true.
- I secretly enjoy reading… Vanity Fair Magazine.
- If it didn’t sound crazy, I’d write or make a book of photographs.
- If I had had a perfect childhood I’d have grown up to be… an actor.
- My parents thing artist are… I have no idea what they think.
- My God thinks artist are… His greatest creation.
- What makes me feel weird about this recovery is… nothing, I think it is awesome!
- Learning to trust myself is probably… an on going lesson.
- My most cheer -me up music is… I want to dance with somebody, Whitney Houston
- My favorite way to dress is… dressing better then I do right now.

Now how was that? Not to bad , actually was kind of fun. Anything disturb you on this list? Not disturb but made me stop to think, why don’t I remember playing games? Why don’t I know what my family thinks of artist? Other than that this experience was informative and maybe freeing.
Is there more to write, I feel as if I am done at this point, maybe I will write again later today or this evening.
Growth Question: Do you need to do some detective work to unblock your creativeness? How do you think that experience would feel?

Oh Jeff – How fun was that?! The next time I come to your neck of the woods we’re gonna go dancing!
I love the photograph “Pure.”
Growth Question: Do you need to do some detective work to unblock your creativeness? How do you think that experience would feel?
Nope – it’s hangin’ right out in the wide open breeze 🙂
Laurie,
Made me smile! Your welcome to come dancing anytime!
Let it all hang out girl!
I am not sure how pure “Pure” is but the title felt right! Thank you for enjoying this photograph!

That shooting star almost looks like it has a face… maybe? Enjoyed reading the responses for your list of questions. Sounds like you’re well on your way into the process of uncovering or recovering yourself, the journey of discovery… Funny how “cover” is the root of so many words!
Sometimes I feel my creativity is buried under a pile of life experiences and obligations, too. It’s refreshing to look under the pile now and then and see that the creative self has not given up waiting for a chance to flourish and dance again…
Barbara,
Thank you for dancing with me through this re-cover ing process. I am glad that you enjoyed it!
Maybe there is a face in Shooting Star?
flourishing and dancing with your creative self it a God/Goddess given gift she never takes it away, it is always there for us to shine the light and with!

I love your list and your responses, Jeff! I found my copy of the Artist’s Way and have it sitting in my bookshelf. Your shooting star photo is amazing and I don’t think it is silly to have a book of photographs. Like I have told you before, they would work so very well with a book of positive affirmations. People buy that sort of stuff all the time. Or, select your favorite 12, create a 12-month calendar, and each day has a different one-line affirmation in it. If you feel really ambitious, put together 365 photos and an affirmation for each day and put it into a daily spiral bound calendar. I know you don’t have enough to do 🙂 so I thought I would generate some creativity. To respond to your growth question, my detective work is more like housecleaning — I have to remove all of the noise and unnecessary doing of things so I can be a clear channel for my creativity to express me. It feels like coming home.
Those are great ideas, Barbara! I still see a coffee table book in Jeff’s future. 🙂 Wonder if RedBubble would do something like that…
Barbara,
see my response to Barbara K. All of these creations are possible! Thank you for your
encouragement and support!’

Barbara,
The Artist’s Way sitting on your bookshelf is positive direction, a few more movements and you will have it on your desk.
Thank you for finding Shooting star amazing. Kitchen art….
I don’t think the book is a silly Idea either, not really, and I have though of it before. I can create the Calendar on Redbubble, books I can create on Blurb a photography book web site http://www.blurb.com/. The juices are bubbling around the creation of these works of art.
Yes I understand the housecleaning to remove the noise and unnecessary doing to get to the gems in life of creativeness. I think you are headed in that direction.

Thank you for the link – had no idea such a thing existed! A book can even be made out of a blog!
Barbara,
Just what I need to have a blog book. You mean like Julia and Julie ? and then a movie and than?
Oh the possibilities…
Great list Jeff … and insightful answers. Thanks for visiting my blog and your kind comments. I thrive on such encouragement.
Judson
Judson,
Thank you for stopping by too!
Jeff
Good morning, Jeff! It’s always such a joy to stop by and see what you’re doing and thinking and feeling. It was fun to read your list. Makes me think of that year when four of us did the Artist’s Way and sat in Catherine’s living room and laughed and cried and revealed ourselves to one another. How intimate we became in our sharing.
Loving the first photo, by the way! Loving it so much.
(As for too late to fall in love again…you tell that inner voice that it’s right! It is too late to “fall” in love…because you’ve BECOME love instead. A much preferred option!)
Have a great day, Jeff. By the way, I keep working my way through my list of blogs-to-read and just had to skip ahead to see how you’ve been. Couldn’t wait til we got to your spot in the list!
Kathy,
I am always glad to have you come by to read and view my blog! It is cool that I have brought up memories of your and pals doing the Artist’s Way! I am sure it was a powerful experience!
I am honored to have your assessment of my Higher State of Being, Being Love, instead of “falling in Love” ! I bow to you!
Playing Favorites are we ? LOL

Dear Jeff,
I am totally drawn to mysteries especially The Great Mystery. Recently, in a consultation a person mentioned the Arch Angel Raziel and that he is the Angel of Mysteries. That I found totally exciting! I am very grateful for that consultation because I was encountering Arch Angel Raziel myself. What a beautiful synchronicity! I enjoyed the life mysteries unfolding before me and I am grateful when I go out and pray for my Artist’s Way Circles that The Great Mystery be the center of our circles. Life is an adventure.
Love,
Buffy
